Update

25 Oct

I know it has been a while since I have written a blog, but sometimes you need to take a break from writing and enjoy life.

Since it has been so long, I have done many great things. I went home to America, I ran my first, and second, 5k, I hung out with my best friends, I laughed a whole lot and I fell in love.

Everyone told me that falling in love was one of the best things that you could ever do. Well, it is. Falling in love with your best friend is so wonderful.

Today is our 2 month anniversary. Many people might think that it is too early to fall in love. But, when you are best friends for a year prior, it is kind of easy to fall in love with that person. It is scary to go from being friends to being boyfriend and girlfriend. We were both kind of nervous about what would happen. But, it is so natural and we know that only with God’s help, is this relationship going to work.

I’ll write more later. But for now I will quote one of my favorite movies…

I’m in love! I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it!

My parents are coming home today and I could not be any more EXCITED!

My parents have been out of the country for 2 weeks now. They have been vacationing in Ireland, their second home. So, what does this mean for me? This means that I have been taking care of my dogs, letting them out 15 million times a day, my gerbil, and my sister, as well as making sure everything is going ok with the house.

I have decided that I don’t like when my parents go out of the country. Something always happens. Last time, I got a double eye infection and my sister had bronchitis. This time it was taking my dog to the emergency animal hospital because she was bleeding everywhere and yesterday I got bit by my neighbors dog.

I know that this is strange for me to say that I miss my parents and I CANNOT wait for them to come home. Most people my age, who are living with their parents at home, cannot stand their parents. Well I am just the opposite. I love spending time with my parents. They are seriously my two best friends. I love being able to walk downstairs and have a cup of tea with them. I love being able to sit on the couch and chat with my mom about her devotional. I also love having philosophical discussions with my dad.

Or, is it the fact that I am going to be leaving to MOVE to Japan here in about 2 months?

Anyway… I am excited that I get to see them in 2 hours!

Little things

30 Aug

Today at church, I was reminded that no matter where I am or what I am doing, someone is looking up to me.

We were reading out of Philippians 4 and how we need to trust God at all times.

I was reminded of how God works and how amazing He is. I thought about how God uses people to bless me. How He uses Alece’s blog to bless me and encourage me even though we have never met. She is such an amazing woman of God and if I could be as half as strong as she is, I think that I would be doing pretty good.

I don’t think that Alece ever thought that she would be blessing a 22 year old, that she has never met, every day.

I just wanted to say Thanks Alece for all of your words of encouragement! They really do mean a lot to me!

blessed at work

12 Aug

So I have been praying a lot lately about what book God wants me to read to deepen my faith in Him. I have heard from many friends that John Piper is an excellent writer and that his books are always amazing.

I researched and came to the conclusion that I wanted to read Don’t Waste Your Life. I was actually thinking about purchasing it on half.com today. Well there was no need to do that.

While I was at work, I saw a lady doing her Bible study and enjoying her latte. She had a lovely journal that she was scribbling away in. I was going through the lobby making sure all of the chairs were neatly arranged and that all of the crumbs and spills were wiped up.

I saw a book on the coffee table in front of her. It was Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper!!! I asked her what she thought about it and she said that it was a marvelous book and that her young adult group was doing it at church. I wished her a good day and then continued on cleaning the lobby.

Well about five minutes later, she came up to the counter with THE book. She was like I just wanted to give this to you. I was so shocked! I cannot believe that I was just blessed by God on this marvelous day.

God works in the weirdest ways and man I love Him for that!
