Tap tap tap… is this thing on?

Hello friends. It has been quiet some time since I have updated you all on my life. I am sorry that I haven’t been blogging as much. I guess you can say I kinda got out of the swing of it.

Life is busy here in Japan. I’m working a lot and that is good… keeps me busy and my mind off of things. I don’t have hours to sit around and think. I have been told that this is not good. But, with working so much, I haven’t been able to talk to you all as much.

What is going on in your life? Anything new and exciting? Got any great trips planned? You know me.. I love a good vacation to any corner of the Earth.

Speaking of vacations… I have been on two and I need to tell all about it, in another post.

I hope you all are doing well. Please, leave me a comment to tell me about your life and what is going on.

I miss you!!!

English Everywhere

Today is now the 2nd full day that I have been in America.

Here are a few things that have shocked me since being in America.

1. Restroom Stalls. In Japan, they go all the way to the ground and they don’t have huge cracks in between the door and the stall. I was concerned that someone would grab my purse or my backpack, since there were no hooks on the door. Or, that they could grab my ankles. Scary.

2. Style. I have realized that I am a true American in Japan. I like to be comfortable but I also enjoy dressing up. In Japan, you will hardly ever see someone walking around in sweats. Now that I am back in America for a short time, I am noticing how sloppy Americans are. Like wearing sweatpants (which I am a huge fan of wearing… just not out in public anymore.) or their jogging outfit into the store. Also in Japan, it is an unwritten rule that you don’t show your shoulders or upper arms. So, this is a slight shock to me… since I now feel like I am wearing hardly anything if I am just wearing a t-shirt and no vest or cardigan.

3. White people. I don’t know why, but I am shocked at looking up and seeing mostly white people everywhere. I am just expecting to see Japanese or Asian people everywhere.

These are just a few of the things that I have noticed since being back in the home country.

Oh America.

I am so looking forward to the next 2 months of life.

1 month from today I will be leaving Japan to go to Australia. I am soooo excited.

Reasons why I am excited:

* English

* Beach

* Australian accents

* Scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef

* Rainforest

* Target

* Movies

* Church

It will be a grand time with my dear friend Jessica Wilson.

2 months from today I will be frantically cleaning my apartment because Hannah Ruthie will be visiting me. Holllaa! I am so excited for some BFFness in my life. We will be hanging out in Tokyo and adventuring around Sendai. She will also get to meet my cute children.

This is going to be a great 2 months. I’m sure that I will be blogging a lot these next two months, so get your read on!
